Today I planked at work.

If there’s any album you buy this year, make it Fleet Foxes’ Helplessness Blues. I’ve been listening to this one non-stop. It’s incredible and I’m so excited to see them later this month.
Buy it on iTunes. Now.

New York City’s new taxicab will be a bulky, traditional van manufactured by Nissan — with no moonroof included.
The Nissan NV200 van, a light commercial vehicle already in use in Asian and European markets, has won the city’s Taxi of Tomorrow competition, according to a city official told of the decision. Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg is set to announce the decision on Tuesday.
Man, this thing is fucking hideous. The alternatives are an equally ugly Ford, or this awesome out-of-nowhere, look-at-us-new-yorkers-we’re-from-the-future cab:

I mean, come on—the thing has a MOONROOF. Imagine being a tourist and being able to see up to the skyline! Not to mention it has a retractable wheelchair ramp.
The Karsan model was rejected after officials decided they could not risk awarding the contract to a company with little experience in the American market.

Sweet! Poehler’s on board.
A website just went up called Tomhaverfoods.com.
Poehler : Oh my God! Aziz is going to freak when he sees it. He’s such a foodie. He’s an epicurean. He’s always tweeting about food.
Ansari: I know, I saw that. It’s so funny; I’m glad people are into it.
…
Aziz, do you use slang for food at all?
Ansari: I do call sandwiches sammies, and what else? I do say sammies; I prefer saying that. The website had some good ones. My favorite was “biscuits are butter boats.” That was good.
From New York Magazine
After having seen the above film, Bill Cunningham New York (which I absolutely loved and comes super highly recommended), finding a reasonably-priced, somewhat professional developing lab 3 blocks from my apartment, and my obsession with Instagram, I just might pull out my film camera and start taking stills with it again.
There’s a certain rush and passion to taking film stills, as anyone who has done it should know. And I think it’s time to get back into that.

Shit I want this week
On shit I want this week, I’m featuring the Pendleton roll-up blanket. We’re not far from summer, folks (although the weather outside seems to be thinking otherwise), and that means picnics. Picnics every fucking day.
This looks like something I wanna put on the back of my bike, saddle up, and head to Governor’s Island for a lazy Sunday outing.
For other shit I want, check out my svpply page.
My phone knows where I’ve been…
My friend Eoban hinted me to this site where one can open their iPhone backup file, where it has stored all of the towers you have connected to since you’ve had the phone. In my case, since July 21, 2010.
Honestly, I found it like a personal trivia game, trying to remember why I was in the places I was. Weird.
You can see me living in NYC, my road trip from Colorado to Milwaukee, my summer trip to Northern Wisconsin, my post-new-years road trip from Madison to NYC, my ski trip to Vermont, and my trip to Turks & Caicos.
I honestly don’t care much about being tracked, but I can absolutely see why someone normal would freak out. It’s pretty crazy.
If you want to try it yourself, run this application on the computer you sync your iPhone with.
Meet me at the bar…
I’m not one to reblog things very often, but this one’s to good to pass up.
It’s always invigorating to see people take old media that you thought were dead and breathe in some new life.
Check out the rest (they’re mesmerizing) here.
